Christmas cookies!

Haven't had a whole bunch of time to myself this holiday season but as soon as I got home from mom's every night I plopped myself down at the kitchen table and decorated cookies! What a stress reliever!

Made this for a friends wedding.

My mom made wedding cakes when I was young and I used to watch her. Musta rubbed off because I just do it.  Today I made a soup she used to always make. She ate 3 bowls. This is a 98 lb. woman who won't even eat a half sandwich at one time. Somewhere in her dementia world a little spark of rememberance of her soup must of rang a bell.  I hope so.

The Beginning of Someday...

Someday when I live in the country this little beauty is gonna be the cutest little shop where I will sell my art work. Can't you see it now?? Painted really cute, flowers outside around it and turquoisey stuff decoratin' the inside! Sigh! Its gonna be so sweet! Someday....

The Nice Wife

Yes, that's me! The nice wife! (No, not the photo!) The nice wife who sat on my husbands little homemade fishing boat for hours just because he puts up with all the mom and dad stuff every single day with me. That would make him The Nice Husband.

I must say the lake was beautiful and nature was in full force. I did a manicure and pedicure on that little boat while holding an umbrella so I didn't cook in the sun. I believe that would also make me the multi-talented wife. I win. :)

My Grandma's Arms

I have my Grandma's arms. I call them fat Italian arms. All I need is the nun shoes and I could be an official old Italian lady.

When my grandma was older and sick and no longer heavy she looked at me one day and said, "I don't know why you are fat, there's no one else fat in this family." HELLO! Didn't she look in the mirror 20 years earlier?? Plus she was large chested so she was shaped like Aunt Bee on the Andy Griffith show! And she had those fat Italian arms. I always hated those fat Italian arms and now I have them. Something must be done. And fast.

I made up some candy/pretzel Easter nests and thought they turned out kinda cute!

I melted chocolate disks and mixed in some crispy stuff and put in candy papers about 2/3 full. Then I melted white chocolate discs and dipped round pretzels in it and set on top of chocolate. Some sprinkles and chocolate eggs and WHA LA! A yummy Easter treat!

After all, Jesus didn't rise up for nothing! I am certain he wanted us to eat candy!

I cannot throw out a cute broken vintage figurine. Its just not in me because their faces are soooo cute! So I have mastered breaking just the head off just right and I have a bunch of heads...kinda weird eh? Well I have had this little devil for a long long time and was just waiting for the right thing to be a pitchfork. And FINALLY I found this broken pin. I love it! Worth the wait!

The girl broke right at her waist. When I saw this old salt shaker at a garage sale I just knew it was the rest of her! And it was only a dime! Hee hee....I just have too much fun!

Mom and dad necklace I made. When my mom was my mom... They have been married 61 years. Sometimes my dad cries when he is not in denial about her dementia.

Lookie what I got!

My husband NEVER buys me flowers!! And he surprised me yesterday. He is such a good man, he puts up with all my mom and dad stuff, tears, frustrations, problems, dramas etc. and still brings home flowers. For those of you who don't know me, I had a flower shop for years and his joke was "I bought you the whole flower shop!" While I certainly don't miss being in the flower business (ESPECIALLY on Valentine's Day!), I do miss the beautiful flowers. Just another confirmation that we have an awesome God!

Home Sweet Snowy Home!

Yep...that is still a Christmas thingee around the door, I did finally take it off today. I needed a ladder and its been sooooo cold and snowy that I just said heck with it. Well the winds were so strong yesterday that half of it blew down and it was swingin' in front of the door and it looked like rednecks live here so I had to brave the elements and get it down!!

My creation of the day! Just love love love makin' stuff!!!

I know this just looks like a dining room table BUT! to those who know me this is a miracle! There are no piles, no art projects, no papers, no ebay shipping junk, no stuff from the latest estate sale, etc. IT IS CLEAN!!! I am on a mission to keep it that way. I know my close peeps are saying Yea, right! We shall see my friends, we shall see!

Soooo... my AOL and facebook accounts were hacked into and they changed my passwords and stole my whole email address book! It took me years to get that address book together! My mistake was that those 2 accounts had the same password. I am so thankful they were the only two. I kinda feel violated and embarassed that everyone got this email that I am in London and need money or something like that. Those close to me know I barely get to go around the block because I am always taking care of mom and dad, but others were concerned. Sorry if any of you got the email! And by the way...facebook deactivated my account to investigate and they better not lose my farm!!!!

I have realized I have ANOTHER addiction. (besides food!!) And it is WEIRD and unexplainable. I LOVE FLASHLIGHTS! I have a LOT of flashlights! Big ones, little ones, key chain kind, regular, LED, booklight type. They are everywhere! Near the bed I have 5! One in my purse. In the drawer of the end table. In my craft studio. This is not planned, I just noticed and realized one day. I think I buy a new little flashlight every time I go to Home Depot. So if I was a psychiatrist what would I figure the reason to be? Afraid of the dark? I don't think I am. Afraid of being in the dark...I usually am in the dark about everything so I am used to that. lol. Thing is I hardly EVER use these flashlights. I just LIKE them and the brighter the better. Go figure.

I think you gotta decorate EVERYTHING!!! And then when its time to put it all away I think why why why did I decorate EVERYTHING!!!
